A Short Summary

Seagrass meadows offer considerable potential for carbon sequestration, and at a time when carbon credit schemes are becoming increasingly important in combating climate change, growing attention is being given to marine ecosystems and their possibilities. The best solution would be to protect and manage coastal ecosystems that are naturally active in carbon fixation and sequestration (for example, tidal marshlands, mangrove forests and seagrass meadows), so that they remain effective as carbon sinks and even further the potential for sequestration of CO2
