Inception workshop on NbS for sustainable agriculture in Viet Nam
On 8 June 2023, IUCN and Can Tho University (CTU) organised an inception workshop on Nature-based Solutions (NbS) for sustainable agriculture at CTU with over 30 participants from MARD, ISPARD, DRAGON, AGU, CTU, IUCN members, and agribusinesses. It was an opportunity to introduce the IUCN NbS Global Standard, discuss sustainable agricultural initiatives, and share experiences.
After the NbS Global Standard was introduced, participants discussed how it could be used to assess sustainable agricultural practices in the Mekong Delta. IUCN’s land health monitoring framework and draft guidance on NbS in agriculture were also presented.
The workshop enhanced knowledge of NbS and promoted collaboration on nature-based agriculture. Feedback will be used to improve the guidance on NbS in agriculture.
This activity is a part of the IKEA Accelerating the Global Transition to Sustainable Agriculture Project focusing on land health and NbS in agriculture.
