The report develops a robust framework for the assessment of employment in Nature-based Solutions (NbS), including the first empirical evaluation of current and potential future global employment in NbS. Moreover, the report shows how the Just Transition framework can be applied to promote decent work in NbS and examines the use of national statistics to measure different forms of work in NbS.

The event will take place in four parts. First, Directors of the three institutions (ILO, IUCN and UNEP) will deliver keynotes to launch the report. Second, the lead authors and editors of the report from the three institutions will present the key findings and recommendations of the report. Third, a few select speakers, including those representing the Global South, other UN Conventions (UNFCC, UNCCD), and case studies featured in the report, will provide their commentaries on the report. Fourth, the event will conclude with a brief presentation of next steps to continue this line of work and collaboration on the topic among the three organizations and beyond.
