Juan Carlos Sánchez, currently a student of the Environmental Governance M.Sc. Programme at the Albert-Ludwig University of Freiburg, has joined IUCN Environmental Law Centre for a period of 7 months to do his Master thesis in coordination with the University.
Juan Carlos, a young Costa Rican lawyer, is developing his thesis project on “Public Participation in Transboundary Environmental Impact Assessment: A critical analysis in the context of transboundary river basins in Central America.” During his stay at the Law Centre, he will also collaborate on water governance topics, oriented towards analysis and implementation of water legal reform. This will include the “RULE” publication in the IUCN Water and Nature Initiative (WANI) series and an update of the “Gobernanza de Aguas Compartidas” publication.
