It is thanks to the strategic funding received from philanthropic partners that IUCN can act quickly to explore emerging opportunities and respond to urgent threats, as well as make deep commitments to local communities and sustain investments in complex knowledge and tools that conservationists around the world rely upon. With the support of philanthropic partners, IUCN takes action on the ground, and brings lessons learned from the field into worldwide policy and finance arenas.  Our partnerships have helped to address plastic pollution in the ocean, develop the first global standard of best practice for the management of protected areas, implement comprehensive initiatives to save endangered species in Africa and Asia, and much, much more.
