A growing portfolio

Multilateral partners provide nearly 50% of IUCN’s funding. The European Commission, the Green Climate Fund (GCF) and the Global Environment Facility (GEF) are particularly important partners with whom IUCN has a significant and growing portfolio.

Our diverse portfolio of initiatives focuses on:

  • Climate change adaptation and mitigation
  • Nature based solutions for improved ecosystems and landscape management
  • Managing the food-water-biodiversity nexus through river basin management
  • Development of a blue economy & High seas management
  • Inclusive Conservation

The Green Climate Fund (GCF) highly values IUCN’s expertise in how to safeguard our environment as GCF expands financial support for nature-based climate action. GCF is funding several IUCN projects in developing countries which address climate change while also preserving, restoring and managing vital ecosystems. Our deepening ties with IUCN are building momentum for climate action and nature conservation.
