SSC Groups

Quadrennium Goals, 2017-2020

Spangled Emperor, Letherinus nebulosus, Australia Photo: Nick Hacking, 2014 All Specialist Groups within the IUCN Species Survival Commission (SSC) develop four-year targets with multiple measures of success as developed by the IUCN.

This table summarizes primary SSG SG targets for the 2017-2020 quadrennium.  The primary emphasis is on extending species conservation planning using both single and multi-species reef fish management tools.  This includes ecosystem based management tools such as protected areas in several regions.  Some of these projects will extend into the next 2021-2024 quadrennium.
