Programme Finance Manager, IUCN Global Programme Operations Unit
Johary Rakotojohary is the Programme Finance Manager with IUCN’s Global Programme Operations Unit in charge of the IUCN Biodiversity Conservation Group, which includes the World Heritage Programme, Global Protected Areas Programme and Species Programme. He first joined IUCN in 2016 to manage the administration and finance of the IUCN Global Protected Areas Programme. Previously he worked in different finance roles at WWF International for 13 years, following two years at WWF Madagascar. Johary was born in Madagascar, where he grew up and got inspired by the country’s rich biodiversity. After graduating in Business Administration, he began his career at Pact, a grants unit of USAID in Madagascar, and contributed to the development of the Ranomafana National Park. Johary has a habit of playing music on Fridays to celebrate TGIF with his wife and two children. One of his craziest hobbies is baking to recycle bread, cakes and biscuits.
