WCPA Vice-Chair for World Heritage
Cyril Kormos is Executive Director, Wild Heritage, a project of Earth Island Institute, and has served as Vice-Chair for World Heritage on IUCN's World Commission on Protected Areas (WCPA) since 2012. He sits on the IUCN WCPA Steering Committee, chairs the IUCN WCPA World Heritage Network and serves as the NGO liaison to the World Heritage Programme. Cyril is also a member of the editorial board for IUCN WCPA’s PARKS journal as well as an associate editor for the International Journal of Wilderness. He holds a B.A. in English from the University of California at Berkeley, an M.Sc. in Politics of the World Economy from the London School of Economics and a J.D. from the George Washington University Law School. He is based in Berkeley, California, USA.
