By Patricia Parkinson - WCEL and CEESP members discussed the importance of cultural impact assessments as a critical tool for environmental planning at the IUCN Oceania Regional Conservation Forum. 

WCEL Chair Antonio Benjamin, CEESP Chair Kristen Walker-Painemilla, and CEC Chair Sean Southey attended the Communities, Conservation & Livelihoods Conference in Halifax, Canada from 28-30 May 2018.

Strathclyde University in Glasgow, Scotland hosted the 16th IUCN Academy of Environmental Law Colloquium from 4-6 July 2018. Many WCEL Members presented and participated in the event.
