The WCEL at the IUCN World Conservation Congress Marseille, 3-11 September 2021...

IUCN CEM Red List of Ecosystems Steering Committee met in Gland, Switzerland in June 2018 to discuss how all IUCN Commissions can better promote protection of endangered ecosystems.

Strathclyde University in Glasgow, Scotland hosted the 16th IUCN Academy of Environmental Law Colloquium from 4-6 July 2018. Many WCEL Members presented and participated in the event. 

The pervasive nature and scale of land degradation is currently undermining the well-being of two fifths of humanity, according to an IUCN co-authored assessment of global land degradation and restoration.
