Papal message to the participants of the Budapest Water Summit 2019
The 3rd Budapest Water Summit took place in Hungary from 15 to 17 October 2019. The overall theme of the event was “Preventing Water Crisis”. The Summit was attended by representatives of the academic world, international and regional organizations, governments, business and civil society.

In the morning of 17 October, a Message of His Holiness Pope Francis, signed by Cardinal Parolin and addressed to the President of Hungary Mr Áder, was read by an Official of the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development (Holy See).
In the Message, “His Holiness trusts that the basic human right to safe and clean water will guide” the deliberations of the Forum, and “hopes that the most marginalized members of the human family will be the first to benefit from improvements in sustainable supplies of the most cherished gift of water”.
