IUCN and France to celebrate IUCN's 70th anniversary in Fontainebleau

IUCN and France celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Union’s establishment in Fontainebleau on 30 and 31 August, with a conference titled “The future of landscapes: a new relationship for people and nature”.

The event will be attended by French Minister for Ecological and Inclusive Transition, Nicolas Hulot, IUCN Vice President John Robinson, IUCN Director General Inger Andersen, and numerous personalities from the world of science and politics.

The conference will be followed by excursions to IUCN’s birthplace the Palace of Fontainebleau, and its surrounding forest.
