Top 50 Mediterranean Island Plants on Google

IUCN-Med has created and published its “Top 50 Mediterranean Island Plants” layer on Google Earth. This layer is based on “The Top 50 Mediterranean Island Plants” publication presenting a selection of 50 of the most threatened plant species growing on Mediterranean islands.

The aim of this Google layer is to draw the attention of conservationists and politicians to the geographical distribution of these species in the Mediterranean and to the vulnerability of island flora in the region, and as a call for urgent conservation measures. Through the user-friendliness of this tool, the wide public will also be able to have easy access to this information and to learn more, through the available images and links, about the presence and the status of these plants in order to help protect them from extinction.

To see this layer on Google Earth, you will need to have it installed in your computer and then click on this link below: https://www.iucn.org/downloads/iucn___the_top_50_mediterranean_island_plants.kml
