On February 19th 2008 a survey was sent by e-mail to members of the World Commission on Protected Areas by the Commission Chair.to capture their views on what has emerged since the 2003 Congress. T

his questionnaire provides an opportunity to express opinions on progress in terms of the key outcomes, actions and targets in the Durban Action Plan, Accord and the recommendations adopted at the Congress.

Also wanted was views on emerging issues and global trends. The survey was also made available on the IUCN and WCPA websites and members were encouraged to distribute it to their networks.

The survey was designed collaboratively by IUCN staff, members of the steering committee and Parks Canada and respondents were given one month to respond. The following is a summary and interpretation of the results.
