Mobile phone apps offer easy access to climate change science

New apps from the website Skeptical Science use mobile phone technology to share environmental information. It's a "sign of the times" says CEC Deputy Director Wendy Goldstein.

New apps are making environmental information available on mobile phones

A sign of the times in making environmental information available on mobile phones: You can download a smart phone "apps" called "Skeptical Scientist" so that you quickly have on hand answers to those that pose queries about climate change science. The apps let you browse arguments via the Top 10 most used arguments as well as 3 main categories ("It's not happening", "It's not us", "It's not bad") -- and, more importantly, readily access what the science says on each argument.

There is an iPhone app, Android app, Nokia app and a Firefox Add-on. Learn more about the free software >>

The content is based on the most-used skeptic arguements about global warming, and what the science says...

  1. It's the sun
  2. Climate's changed before
  3. It's not bad
  4. There is no consensus
  5. It's cooling
  6. Models are unreliable
  7. Temp record is unreliable
  8. It hasn't warmed since 1998
  9. Antarctica is gaining ice
  10. Ice age predicted in the 70s
