“IUCN has formed part of a consortium with GIZ, NIRAS and IRD to bid for the project action “Ocean Governance: Protecting and restoring marine ecosystems, catalysts for building peace and security, and fostering sustainable economies”, to be funded by the European Union under its Partnership Instrument 2018 Annual Action Programme (prospective project duration: Sept 2019 – Aug 2022).

Building upon existing work, the action will focus on taking forward concrete cooperation for specific Marine Protected Areas and/or degraded coastal and marine ecosystems around two basins: the South- and Southeast Asian region and the Atlantic Ocean.
