He also visited the Urban Forest Model Park at Clifton, accompanied by Mr Cheema. The Advisor was briefed on the plantation activities at the Model Park and their future plans by the Chief Executive of the Urban Forest Model Park, Mr Shahzad Qureshi. Mr Aslam appreciated the idea of urban forestry and the efforts of Mr Qureshi and his team. Mr. Aslam said that the Ministry of Climate Change is also devising a plan to expand urban forestry for enhancing the vegetative cover in urban areas. He emphasised the need for the private sector and individuals to come forward, as it is a great cause and is also an investment for our future generations towards providing them a healthy environment.

Mr Aslam also paid a visit to the mausoleum of the father of the nation, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, and offered fateha – a prayer for the departed soul.

Plants were also planted in the vicinity of the mausoleum by Mr Aslam, Mr Cheema, and members of Shehri - Citizens For A Better Environment, a Member organisation of IUCN Pakistan.
