Workshop towards a Species Conservation Strategy for Turkey, Istanbul, 26 – 27 April 2014

Around 200 participants will attend the Workshop towards a Species Conservation Strategy for Turkey, organized by the T.R. Ministry of Forestry and Water Affairs General Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks in Istanbul, the 26th and 27th of April 2014.

The Workshop will get together academic staff, non-governmental organizations; as well as central and local offices of the ministry to discuss on current and future species conservation strategy in Turkey. This workshop is the opportunity for IUCN to present its activities in order to increase the knowledge of IUCN among the Turkish environmental organizations, and multiply the partnerships.

During these two days, the institutions will look over their respective strategies in terms of species conservation, and work on IUCN-Turkey relations. After the presentations, a session will be organized to discuss about Turkey’s Species Conservation Strategy: How to define priorities and strategies for species conservation at the national level.
