This monthly message consists of a series of updates on the draft IUCN Programme 2013-2016, the Regional Conservation Fora, the Call for Contributions to the Forum and the build up towards the 2012 World Conservation Congress.
Draft IUCN Programme for 2013-2016
The draft IUCN Programme for 2013-2016 is available for consultation on the IUCN website and the Members’ portal in English. The French and Spanish translations will follow shortly. Members will also receive a copy via email from the Regional Offices. For more information, and to access the draft programme, please click here.
Members are encouraged to actively participate in the discussions about the draft Programme by attending the Regional Conservation Fora and/or by sending comments in writing to firstname.lastname@example.org by 10 October 2011 at the latest.
Once the consultation process is complete, the revised draft of the Programme will be considered and endorsed by the IUCN Council at its November 2011 meeting. The final draft of the Programme, will be sent out to the entire IUCN membership in January 2012 and submitted for adoption at the IUCN World Conservation Congress in September 2012.
Regional Conservation Fora
The first of the regional meetings took place in Kuwait for West Asia Members from 2-5 May. Read the news story here.
Lima will host the next meeting for Members in South America from 13-15 June.

Call for Contributions to the Forum
The Call for Contributions for the Forum segment of the 2012 IUCN World Conservation Congress is now open!
Visit www.iucn.org/congress for the latest updates and information about the Congress, and to access the Call for Contributions. You will also be able to see which proposals have already been submitted or to submit a new one. The call will remain open until 15 October 2011 and you will have until this date to identify partners and develop your proposal. We recommend that you read the instructions carefully before submitting your event, to ensure you maximise the chance of your proposal being selected.
2012 World Conservation Congress
A new website has been launched for the 2012 World Conservation Congress, which will take place in Jeju, Republic of Korea from 6 to 15 September 2012. Visit the website regularly for news and information on all aspects of the Congress.
Communications Update: Members’ Portal
The Members’ Portal is currently under development and new functionalities to better exchange and share information, news and views will be added. The Portal already links to the Call for Contributions system, as outlined above, and will be linked to other Congress systems as they come online, e.g. registration.
