In March, the MWD Team welcomed Sorn Pheakdey, new MWD Cambodia Field Coordinator.
Pheakdey, Cambodian, has a bachelors degree in Environmental Science. He has extensive conservation experience such as in Biodiversity and Protected Area Management, Wildlife and Protected Area Management Database design and management and as a Trainer of Fundamental Skills on Biodiversity and Protected Area Conservation, Environmental and Biodiversity Conservation Education Awareness and Basic skills of Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
Being a Field Coordinator for MWD, his assignment is to help improve decision-making in the context of water resources governance, and the promotion of human security and the prevention of conflict in relation to water resources. He is responsible for implementing MWD field activities in Tonle Sap and other relevant Mekong River areas under the direct supervision of the Senior Programme Officer.
