Believing in the importance of trees and the role of the profession of agriculture, the Council of Deans of the University of Jordan (UJ) stipulated a new graduation condition for UJ students.

University of Jordan - plant a tree as a prerequisite for graduation

The new condition, according to Dr Ahmad Awaidi, Dean of Students Affairs, mandates that a student must plant a tree during study years as a prerequisite for graduation.

During the launch of an initiative to plant forest trees, organised by the deanship and executed in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture, Awaidi said that the decision will instill a love of trees and tree planting in the minds of our students, in addition to instilling the values of respect for the profession of agriculture and agricultural workers.

400 students from various faculties of the University participated in planting 200 trees on campus, aimed at increasing the green spaces in Jordan.
