Durban is getting the gender message

We need to start taking gender issues more seriously in relation to climate change, says Lorena Aguilar, IUCN's Senior Gender Advisor at the UN Climate Change Summit in Durban.

According to Aguilar we need to take account of gender differences not only when planning projects but also when designing policy around climate change impacts.

So far in Durban IUCN's team of gender advocates have met with a great response. Could it be that the gender message is getting through?


Now that we're at the half-way stage in the Durban Climate Change Summit, what can we realistically expect to come out of this.
