Demonstrating how to measure a sea turtle in a workshop for fishermen of Kaeasrass, Morocco.

On 7 June 2013, ATOMM organized a training workshop for more than 50 fishermen and students at Kaasrass fishing village. This workshop was part of a collaborative study between ATOMM and Kaasrass fishermen association to evaluate the impact of fisheries on sea turtles found in these waters. The project is funded by ATOMM.

Through this workshop we tried to educate the fishermen about turtles and data collection techniques and also further strengthen our collaboration with them to collect data on accidentally captured sea turtles. 7 other workshops have been organised along the Moroccan coast in Al Hoceima, M’diq, Tangier, Casablanca, Agadir and Laâyoune
