Dear Russ and other fans of Tom:
I too was the beneficiary of selfless generosity from Tom who I met through a mutual friend while in graduate school. Tom helped me get some funding for my PhD research and remained a trusted colleague and friend ever since the late 1970s. We benefited from those legendary dinners at Drover's Rest and I benefitted from Tom's wise counsel and wonderful sense of humor. As Russ points out Tom will be celebrated not only for what he himself did but also for those myriad people whom helped. Raise a glass of good wine to Tom. We will miss him. Kent
