Policy and Briefing notes: These are short versions (4 pager, A4 size) of the synthesis studies that are summarized for easy reading. These are translated into WISP official languages except when their scope is not global, in which translations are restricted to the WISP languages used in the target areas. Some policy notes have been translated into Arabic during the last two years.
Synthesis studies are compilations of existing knowledge in thematic areas identified by WISP as key for understanding pastoralism. They are specialized texts that analyze the subjects from different regions and also perspectives, according to the different disciplines of which the evidence on pastoralism is composed.
Country/regional studies: In order to maintain the global nature of WISP, synthesis studies usually require regional revisions or country case studies to feed from. WISP usually tries to produce case studies that are representative of the geographical and cultural diversity of the world's pastoralism.
Academic publications: WISP studies often lead to related academic publications. Here we provide the links to the papers, classified, as all other materials, after their thematic.
