Benefits Beyond Boundaries

Background
The IUCN
5th World Congress on Protected Areas, or IUCN 5th World Parks
Congress as it has become known, is an event that takes place
every 10 years. The event provides a major global forum for setting
the agenda for protected areas. Previous Congresses have had a
tremendous impact in assisting national governments to create
new protected areas, and direct more resources towards biodiversity
conservation.
The 5th
IUCN World Parks Congress and Exhibition will be held in Durban,
South Africa, from 8 to 17 September, 2003. Both Patrons of the
Congress, former South African President and Nobel Peace Prize
winner Mr. Nelson Mandela and Her Majesty Queen Noor strongly
endorse the theme of the Congress, Benefits Beyond Boundaries".
The 5th
IUCN World Parks Congress is organised by
IUCN
- The World Conservation Union,
its World
Commission on Protected Areas (WCPA),
South
African National Parks
and the Government
of South Africa.
World Parks Congress has a record of catalysing important change
for protected areas at all levels: global, regional, national
and local. The World Parks Congress to be held in Durban will
tackle the following, Celebrating Protected areas, Big Issues,
Global Report card, Toolbox for global action, Focus on Africa.
All of these areas will be highlighted in focus areas within the
exhibition.
Seven
unifying workshop
streams will
follow the symposia. These will explore, in-depth, common issues
faced by protected areas throughout the world. The workshop streams
will identify and develop the tools needed to address these issues;
highlight case studies illustrating innovative approaches; and
recommend the way forward.

confirms that exhibitors who integrate their marketing tools with

who dont. By taking up the various opportunities you will
raise your organizations profile, generate valuable new
business and provide an excellent return on your investment.
Ensure
additional exposure by booking or sponsoring any of the following:
- Bar and Restaurant
area
- Business centre
- Central feature
- Hospitality areas,
cocktail events, presentations, book launches,

When embarking
on any marketing or awareness campaign it is essential to maximise
on the effectiveness of that given strategy.
For this
reason we are offering exciting electronic services over and above
the traditional exhibition package.
