What's about
This event  will aim to make people aware how Important Bird Areas contribute to all the workshop stream themes of Durban 2004. A major focus will be to show how local communities living adjacent to high biodiversity sites (IBAs) have been mobilised and empowered through Site Support Groups to participate, contribute to and benefit from the sustainable management of Protected Areas, and most critically to extend the protection and benefits of biodiversity conservation beyond the boundaries of PAs into the productive landscape.
