CMC - Centre for Mediterranean Cooperation

The resolutions adopted at the 1994 General Assembly of IUCN in Buenos Aires and at the World Conservation Congress in Montreal in 1996 called on the IUCN Secretariat to work with the members to develop a programme for the Mediterranean region, and to establish an IUCN Mediterranean Programme Office. The IUCN Centre for Mediterranean Cooperation was subsequently established in October 2001. The Centre and its programme receive core support from the Junta of Andalucia and the Spanish Ministry of the Environment. The IUCN Centre for Mediterranean Cooperation is in Malaga, Spain, and the offices are within the Parque Tecnologico de Andalucia.
