CEESP members have organized several side events at the 8th Conference of the Parties of the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP 8) , in particular on Islands and biodiversity, Community Conserved Areas and poverty and conservation.  If you can, please write to Pippa, Ashish and Lea and ask for their relevant reports to upload.

Seventh Conference of Parties of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD COP7)

CEESP members participated in the technical meeting that preceded COP 7 (AHTEG, Liaison Group with WPC and SBSTTA). See SBSTTA - summary of CEESP participation.
CEESP co-organised a workshop on Livelihoods, Poverty and Biodiversity at the 19th Session of the Global Biodiversity Forum 6th to 8th February 2004, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
At CBD COP 7 CEESP facilitated the participation of representatives of mobile indigenous communities and, through TILCEPA and CMWG, organized and run a side event on Governance, Livelihoods, Equity and Protected Areas and distributed publications (e.g. Tchim Tchieto-Fierté de la Cogestion (CEESP Occasional Paper, No. 2)
and Briefing Notes on governance of protected areas, CCAs and on mobile communities and conservation (the links below refer to newer versions of the same Briefing Notes, updated later in 2004).
