Editorial: Action around the World

Learning from what's working is a wonderful way to move from theory to action. CEC members are actively contributing to their communities, governments, and organizations in many creative and diverse ways. Due to the great response for Members News, we are devoting this issue of our newsletter entirely to what CEC Members are doing around the world.

Please read on to find out more about conferences, training workshops, new books, award competitions and more. If you are interested in following-up on any of these items, feel free to contact the CEC members personally. Ask questions, share ideas and exchange lessons learned. These are some of the benefits of our IUCN education and communication community of practice.

Our next issue focuses on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), with interviews about activities in all CEC regions. All CEC members are invited to contribute to this discussion of ESD. News items and other submissions may be sent to cecnews@iucn.org by using the form mentioned below.

We look forward to switching over from our traditional website to a much more interactive “Internet portal” in the coming months. This will enhance communication and improve online access to IUCN resources.
