The purpose of this research is to provide specific and actionable information that teams of conservation professionals and their organizations can use to improve their ability to learn from failure and hence improve their practice.

This survey is aimed at people who have participated in conservation projects as part of a team.  If someone is currently working in an academic role, they would be appropriate respondents if they have worked in the past on a project with a conservation related objective. 

The survey takes approximately 45 minutes to one hour to complete. She recognizes that this is lengthy, but they hope to gain a foundational understanding of the current state of learning from failure in conservation as a discipline.  As a side note, her pilot respondents said that while the survey was long, they felt it was worthwhile because they viewed their work in a different light after going through the questions.

She recognizes the global reach of IUCN’s work and appreciate the opportunity to capitalize on this collective knowledge to improve our capacity to effectively make the most of failure’s learning opportunity.
