Northern Beauty

Islamabad, July 11: An MACP photographic exhibition 'Northern Beauty' was arranged as a co-event with the International Conference on K2. Federal Minister for Information and Media Development, Sheikh Rashid Ahmed inaugurated the exhibition at 09:00 am. Minister of state for Culture, Sports and Tourism M. Rais Muneer Ahmed and other dignitaries were also present on the occasion. Sheikh Rashid Ahmed appreciated the imitative and commented that such exhibition should be held in different parts of Pakistan to raise public awareness about the pristine natural assets of the country. Large number of people from various walks of life and number of foreigners visited the exhibition from 09:00 am to 07:00 pm. |
| Interview and media coverage of the photographers and exhibits were also arranged. A number of national and international media channels and journalist visited the exhibition. Attractive backdrops and steamers containing key messages from IUCN and its partners were displayed at both the venues. The special commemorative publication of the PTDC also prominently featured a write up on IUCN as a key partner in mountain eco-tourism. Over all, it has been a tremendous presence by the IUCN through the day long event. |
