Education Plan for Badin

May 19: The District Education Board Badin
has prepared education plan with the assistance
of IUCN Pakistan. The draft of plan was presented
at a meeting of the board, chaired by the DCO Badin
Mumtaz Ali Shah.
Speaking on the occasion Mumtaz Ali Shah said existing
resources allocated to education sector could bring
better results if used properly. He informed that
mass awareness campaign has already been started
in the district to convince people to send their
children to schools.
Zohra Rehmat Ali of IUCNP’s ECK group presented
major features of the plan. She said number of strategies
have been suggested under which actions were also

identified. She expected
that literacy rate in the district would be increased
from 24% to 54% by the year 2009 through this plan
with emphasis on quality education.
Nasir Ali Panhwar of IUCNP’s Sindh Programme,
Syed Moenddin, EDO Finance & Planning, Dr. Akash
Ansari, Prof. Abdullah Mallah, GM NCHD, Dr. Najma
Mallah, Nasreen Akhtar Shah, Sawai Khan Chalgari,
Ismail Panhwar, Abdul Razaq Maheri, Mohammad Hashim
Bhurghri and provided useful feedback for improving
the situation of education sector in the district.
