Quetta: IUCNP Balochistan Programme has signed an agreement (Terms of Partnership) with the community of Balozai Dam for the artificial recharge project through IWRM; the main objective of this project is to recharge karezes through artificial recharge technology. The project is a unique one using IWRM approach.

The approach includes artificial recharge system, lined distribution water from Karez daylight point, engineering structures for improving gender access to water for domestic use, on-farm water management systems (high efficiency irrigation systems), and landscaping and improving local scenic beauty to promote local recreation facility.

Physical work started in June this year under the Project will complete in the month of August. Major components of the project have been procured from the vendors like rain makers and Pelikan Industries.
