IUCNP Balochistan Programme celebrates International Women Day

Quetta, March 8: IUCNP Balochistan Programme celebrated the International Women day in collaboration with Balochistan Rural Support Programme (BRSP) and other NGOs. The objective of celebrating Women Day was to create awareness about the women rights, to highlight their problems and to propose measure which can be taken to improve their status. Participants came from different public and private sectors organizations. Speakers dilated on various issues concerning women. Different organizations including IUCNP Balochistan Programme office organized stalls and displayed their publications.

Member Provincial Assembly, Mrs Rubina Irfan highlighted the present condition of women in Pakistan specifically in Balochistan and emphasized the role of women in development. Senator Mrs. Roshan Barucha observed that Federal Govt. has taken several steps and decisions for women development, but she urged that it’s the duty of every individual to take care about each other rights. She said that women must be provided equal access to resources.

The participants showed great interest in the IUCN publications and informative material which was displayed on the occasion.
