Les communautés des villages gambiens de Bouram, Bali Mandinka et Diassobo, ont séjourné du 21 au 25 avril dernier dans le village sénégalais de Dassilamé Sérère situé  dans le delta du Saloum.  C’était dans le cadre d’une visite d’échanges organisée par le projet Initiative Mangrove en Afrique de l’Ouest (IMAO) conjointement mis en œuvre par Wetlands International Afrique et l’UICN. L’objectif de cette activité était  de renforcer les capacités des femmes de la Gambie en techniques de reboisement de la mangrove et de production d’huitres et de miel. …

Lebanese Council of Ministers approves the new National Forest Fires Strategy supported by IUCN-Med

Lebanon´s well known and unique Cedrus libani forests have been the object of a constant quest to control the access and trade of its valuable timber for millennia. A new national strategy, supported by IUCN-Med was approved on 15 May by the Council of Ministers. This strategy  integrates the need for adapting to climate change in order to reduce the risk of harmful fires and build ecological and social resilience to the impacts of global change.
