Promote water issues in Europe with the Green Week

17 February 2012 | News story

Every year, the European Commission's Directorate-General for the Environment organises the Green Week, one of the biggest conferences on environmental policy in Europe. You can apply to add your event to the Green Week’s satellite events list – an opportunity to increase visibility of your action.

The European Commission’s DG Environment invites organizations in Europe to apply to have their events branded as “Green Week 2012 satellite events”. Events can vary from open door days and guided tours to conferences and various initiatives addressing this year’s Green Week theme – “Water”. Among the eligibility requirements is that the satellite events should take place during the months of May or June 2012 in parallel to the Green Week 2012 events in Brussels which will take place from 22 to 25 May. The objective is to raise awareness about water at the local level among the general public.

The events selected by DG Environment as satellite events will be promoted on the Green Week 2012 website. The organizers  will receive logos, posters and other promotional materials. A large panel listing Green Week 2012 satellite events will be placed at the venue of the Green Week in Brussels.

The deadline for submission is Wednesday 29 February 2012 at 12:00 CET. The application form can be found here.
