IUCN Member awarded membership of Clinton Global Initiative

The Applied Environmental Research Foundation (AERF), an IUCN Member based in India, has been awarded membership of the Clinton Global Initiative in appreciation of AERF’s efforts to conserve and protect forests and biodiversity in the Western Ghats.  

Furthermore, AERF's commitment, “Safeguarding forests and biodiversity in the Western Ghats”, has been selected for a one-on-one plenary session at the annual meeting of the Clinton Global Initiative starting on 20 September 2011 in New York. During the plenary session, scheduled for 21 September, President Bill Clinton will present AERF Director Dr. Archana Godbole with a commitment certificate.
