Survey Results on Action Goals of UNDESD Bonn Declaration

06 March 2010 | News story

CEC member Dieter Gross reports on a survey by 111 international experts to evaluate the Bonn Declaration arising from the UNESCO World Conference on Education for Sustainable Development.

In the CEC Newsletter of June 2009 there was an announcement of a Survey within a German-Japanese Project focused on setting priorities within UNESCO's Action Goals for the Second Half of the United Nations Decade on Education for Sustainable Development (UNDESD). And  there was also news in April about the Bonn Declaration issued by UNESCO World Conference on ESD: What are ESD priorities for CEC?

Now the results of the Survey are available. 111 international experts have evaluated the Action Goals of the Bonn Declaration, making us aware to which degree the goals might be realized before the end of the Decade in 2014.

"The results show regional differences and clearly reveal the drivers and barriers - thus the experts assist in choosing effective strategies," explains CEC member Dieter Gross (Dieter.Gross@t-online.de).
