Earth Day 2010 celebration in Karachi

On occasion of the Earth Day, Children’s Museum for Peace and Human Rights organized an art exhibition at Frere Hall, Karachi. The artwork was contributed by children from 102 schools across Pakistan. The theme of the artwork was Global Warming.  Around 550 school children from various schools from all over Karachi participated in this event.

In his brief speech Mr. Shah Murad Aliani informed the participants about the dangers of the Climate Change that the earth is facing. He further elaborated on the ways to conserve energy, efficient water utilization and tree plantation. He was of the view that through small deeds we can make a big difference in this world.

Other guests included: Mr. Nisar Khoro, Speaker Sindh Assembly, Dr. Christian Brecht, German Consul General and Mr. Mir Husain Ali, Secretary Environment and Renewal Energy, Government of Sindh.

At the closing the guests distributed shields amongst the winning students.
