A system for a better monitoring of wild meat
16 March 2009 | News story
Organized by TRAFFIC International, the sub regional workshop on wild meat in Central Africa was held from December 7th to 9th, 2008 in Douala, Cameroon.
It aimed at developing, in collaboration with the identified key stakeholders, a sub regional system of follow-up and monitoring of the wild meat for Central Africa. About twenty participants took part in the sessions, representing various organizations, international NGOs, Universities and regional organizations (WWF, WCS, MIKE, LAGA, CIFOR, CEW, CIRAD, RAPAC, TRAFFIC,…). At the conclusion of the sessions, the bases for the development of a follow-up and monitoring system for wild meat in Central Africa were identified. TRAFFIC is a joint program of WWF and IUCN which takes care that the trade of wild species does not threaten nature conservation. firstname.lastname@example.org
