Top Tier Portraits
Once again, IUCN World Commission on Protected Areas and International Rangers Federation were very fortunate to have excellent applicants for the award and felt contenders fully met all the criteria that such an award requires.
Following an in-depth selection process, only one recipient was chosen as the winner 2008. Nevertheless, 4 others candidates made the top tier. We’d like to acknowledge their hard work on this occasion.
- Alasdair Harris
- Nathan Males
- Kifa Sasa Marín
- Dawa Steven Sherpa
Their self-sacrifice, engagement towards the conservation of Protected Areas and passion to preserve natures beauty are described in the attached downloads
The Young Conservationist Award is a joint initiative launched by IUCN’s World Commission on Protected Areas (WCPA) and the IRF.
In 2004, WCPA and IRF signed a Memorandum of Understanding to promote collaboration on protected areas and the rangers responsible for their protection.
