IUCN will host the following events related to issues discussed at the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) meeting in Bonn:

Improving National Implementation: highlighting gender equality and women's participation

Tuesday 1st June, 18:00 – 19: 30 Room: Wind (Ministry of the Environment)

With examples of gender plans of action from different regions, IUCN and Women's Environment and Development Organization (WEDO) will convene partners from governments and civil society to highlight the importance of gender considerations in implementing national climate change plans.

Challenges and opportunities for multi-stakeholder engagement as part of REDD-readiness processes

Thursday 10th June, 18:00 – 19:30 Room: Solar (Ministry of the Environment)

IUCN will hold a panel discussion on the role of multi-stakeholder consultations in national REDD readiness planning and decision making processes. The discussion will inform policy makers on challenges and opportunities in participatory methods in countries in Asia, Latin America and Africa.
