DC Diary – Representing the Red Sea

The ocean is not getting enough attention when it comes to conservation efforts. IUCN, along with a number of other environmental groups and academics, will be pushing for a number of environmental issues at the International Marine Conservation Congress, which starts today in Washington, D.C.  



Ameer Abdulla is a Senior Specialist and Leader of IUCN’s Marine Biodiversity and Conservation Science Group, based in IUCN’s Centre for Mediterranean Cooperation in Malaga, Spain.

He explains what he is hoping to get out of the five day meeting.
