Assessing Countries' Legal and Institutional Frameworks Relating to PES

16 December 2008 | News story

The IUCN Environmental Law Centre (ELC) and the Katoomba Group are currently implementing a legal analysis initiative with the aim of better understanding the legal and institutional frameworks of water and carbon related Payments for Ecosystem Services (PES) schemes.

The following questionnaire offers guidance on the issues to be considered when conducting a PES country assessment. The guidance is available online at the websites of the IUCN Environmental Law Centre and the Katoomba Group for additional stakeholders who may wish to carry out analyses of their legal and institutional frameworks.
