Heads of state, meeting at the G8 Summit in Italy have pledged to “take the lead in the fight against climate change.”

“The interlinked challenges of climate change, energy security and the sustainable and efficient use of natural resources are amongst the most important issues to be tackled in the strategic perspective of ensuring global sustainability,” they add.
However, the impacts of climate change are already felt in many areas.
Ninni Ikkala, IUCN’s Climate Change Coordinator, explains what more the G8 needs to do.
