IUCN Director General’s statement on the US announcement in regard to the Paris Agreement

The International Union for Conservation of Nature, IUCN, deeply regrets the White House’s announcement that it will withdraw the United States government from the 2015 Paris Agreement on climate change.

At the IUCN World Conservation Congress held in Hawaiʻi  in September 2016, IUCN Members unanimously adopted Resolution 56, welcoming the Paris Agreement, and called on all IUCN Members, including State Members, to strengthen their efforts in its implementation.
