Working together to strenghten protected area management globally

This report comes from a joint meeting of WCPA and CEC Steering Committees, May 14 in San Pablo de Lagos, Ecuador.

Ecuador, 14 May 2009, was the venue for the first ever joint meeting of WCPA and CEC Steering Committees, which also involved IUCN Regional Focal points for protected areas.

This historic meeting provided a platform to exchange ideas and learning, and to enable the two Commissions to contribute to the One Programme concept.

Our meeting was generously supported by the Ecuadorian Ministry of the Environment and IUCN.
