One of the major aims of the M&E Initiative is to strengthen the planning, monitoring and evaluation skills of project and programme managers at regional and global levels.
Skilled PM&E facilitators working in Asia, Africa and Latin America developed, over a 5-year period, a core PM&E course for IUCN project managers. This course has been developed and tested in Asia, Africa and Latin America. It provides project managers with the basic concepts and hands-on skills development in the following areas:
- Module 2: Developing a Logic Model: Part 1 and PowerPoint presentation - Results Chain, Logic Model, Problem Tree Analysis, Visioning and Force Field Analysis
- Module 3: Developing a Logic Model: Part 2 and PowerPoint presentation - Results Chains, Planning Language, Logical Framework Analysis (LFA), Indicators, Means of Verification, Writing Proposals.
- Module 4: Monitoring and Reporting and PowerPoint presentation - Operational Monitoring, Performance Monitoring, Reporting, Designing a Monitoring Plan
- Module 5: Evaluation and PowerPoint presentation - Project Evaluation, Developing a Terms of Reference and an Evaluation Matrix.
